Is SEO Actually Worth It? Yes.

Every agency says SEO "works." Most can't show you what it actually did. Here's what it did for two of our clients — no vague promises, just what happened after the work went live.

It's a fair question. SEO takes longer than turning on ads, it's harder to explain in a sales pitch, and it's easy to oversell. So instead of the usual case for why SEO matters in theory, here's what it did in practice for two real clients — one a media agency, one a trade business.

Tier 1 client
Landed by Strum Media through an organic Google search — after previously only ranking for their own brand name
$60k week
Lightning Response Plumbing's first $60k revenue week, pipeline filled 100% organic — zero paid ad spend

Case study: Strum Media

Strum Media Video & Photography Agency · Melbourne
Before PCS

Strum only appeared in Google when someone searched their business name directly — invisible for the broader industry terms their actual customers were searching.

The Work

A technical SEO cleanup and rebuild, followed by an ongoing engagement structuring content and pages around the searches that matter in their industry.

The Outcome

Non-brand impressions grew from 513 to 1,825 in the first month, with roughly 90 non-brand search terms appearing from effectively zero.

Tier 1 client signed from an organic Google search result — direct evidence the visibility converted into real business
Why this matters

Strum didn't need more ad spend to land a tier 1 client — they needed to actually show up for the searches that client was already making. That's what structural SEO does: it doesn't create demand, it captures demand that was already there and going to a competitor.

Case study: Lightning Response Plumbing

Lightning Response Plumbing Emergency Plumbing · Melbourne, VIC
Before PCS

An emergency plumbing business with no website actually working for them, in one of the most competitive local search categories there is.

The Work

A custom mobile-first build with local SEO structure targeting emergency searches — sitemap submitted on launch day so Google could start indexing immediately.

The Outcome

Their first $60,000 revenue week — with the pipeline filled entirely by organic Google search. No paid ads driving that result.

$60k week 100% organic pipeline — proof that ranking, not ad spend, was carrying the business that week

So — is SEO actually worth it?

For these two businesses, yes — clearly. A tier 1 contract that started as a Google search. A $60k week with zero ad spend behind it. Neither of those happened by accident, and neither happened overnight — SEO is groundwork, not a switch you flip. But once the structure is in place, it keeps working long after the invoice for building it is paid.

It's not a fit for every business, and it's not instant. If you need leads next week, paid ads still have a place. But if you're asking whether the ranking work is worth doing at all — for these two clients, the answer wasn't close.
